The Sudanese community in Los Angeles, joined by human rights allies and local activists, aims to break the silence surrounding the war in Sudan with a major solidarity protest scheduled for Saturday, November 22.
Under the banner “Stand with Sudan: Your Voice Matters,” demonstrators will gather at the Federal Building on Wilshire Boulevard to demand immediate international intervention and justice for the victims of the ongoing conflict.
As violence escalates in the regions of Darfur and Kordofan, civilians continue to bear the brunt of a humanitarian catastrophe. Reports of targeted attacks, displacement, and severe human rights violations have alarmed the diaspora community, prompting this urgent call to action. This rally seeks to amplify the voices of those silenced by war and to urge US policymakers to take a firmer stance against the aggressors.
“We are standing for justice, and we are standing for the innocent lives caught in the crossfire,” organizers stated. “The world cannot turn a blind eye to the atrocities happening right now. We invite everyone in Los Angeles to join us and be the voice for the voiceless.”
